Wastelander Moves-You can still perform wastelander moves with all the levels of the morph-gun. =============================================================================== Story Thus Far......................................................STF Jak 3 picks up almost immediately after the ending of Jak II. A fanatical religous zealot has gained a place of power on the "Council of Haven City". This man is obsessed with getting Jak kicked out of the city. By using Jak's connections with Krew he is able to convince the council that Jak is responsible for letting the Metal Heads into the City. Thus the council rules that Jak must be exiled into the wasteland. Even Ashelin can't save Jak from the council. The game starts with Jak on the cruiser that is escorting him to be dropped off in the middle of the wasteland where he faces certain death. =============================================================================== Missions............................................................Msn "Spoilers Warning" Just so you know, from this point on the spoiler threat is very high. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Act I........................................................ACI +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* --Prove Yourself to Damus(ac1.01)-- [You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry] Recommended Buggy:N/A Recommended Morph-Gun:N/A Mission Difficulty:Zero/5 This mission should be a cake walk for you. It basically serves as the basic tutorial for Jak 3. For this mission all you need to do is make it through a simple obstacle course collecting all the "floating lights" along the way. there are 30 of them in total and if you follow my directions you won't miss a single one. Roll through the next 3 lights along the skinny path, and the other 3 at the end before climbing the ladder to the left. Three more lights await you once you reach the top. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Note of Special Interest: To climb a ladder simply walk up to it and Jak will take over. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Jump up to the next level in front of you and collect the two lights in front of the dummy, and the one behind him. Then jump to the small platform to your left. Collect the light here and proceed to the next platform directly ahead of you. Collect the two lights then walk up against the wll to the right. Crouch and jump to reach the next level. Collect the three lights here and move on to the moving platform. Continue forward to the next platform. Collect the two lights then roll and jump as your jump ends. If you fall or miss your jump there is a way back up off to the side. Once on the other side pick up the two lights and jump across another moving platform to the right. Grab the three lights and break through the part of the platform that is a different color. Grab the three lights when you land and roll jump across the gap to grab another light. Jump down to the right and proceed along the platform to grab the final light. A platform will rise up in front of you. Ride it up and jump into the light to finish the mission. Just use your scatter gun and spin attacks to deal with these guys. Just be sure you don't let yourself get surrounded. Also when an alarm starts to ring and lava begins to bubble up you need to jump up to the safety of the four boxes around the ring. Lava will surge up momentarily, once it receedes you can resume your battle. When only 5 or so marauders are left you'll get the chance to go dark Jak. Use your punches to atttack them while still avoiding their attacks and the lava. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Note of Special Interest: Once you go Dark Jak you can't turn it off until the cinematic starts. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Once all 20 are dead a platform will rise up. Jump on it and then enter the light pillar to finish the mission. You are still confined within the walls of Spargus City. Just ride your Leaper Lizard until the target is directly in front of you. Then hit square to "capture" it. To find a rat just look at your map, all the red dots are what you are looking for. Don't worry about the rats leaving Spargus, they are just as stuck as you are. Once all six are in your possession you can advance to the next mission. Also be sure to avoid hitting any of your fellow citizens of Spargus City. They will strike back if provoked. The order of symbols seems somewhat random so just do as best as you can. Your goal is 75 correct symbols, but you can only miss 5 altogether. You'll be driving through a series of Light Pillars until you've learned how to operate your buggy. If you can't find a pillar it is represented by a flashing green dot on your radar. For the first pillar just drive through it. For Pillar number 2, just stop in the center of red rocks around the pillar, then press L2 for rear-view. The third pillar has you driving through it, then reversing back through it again. Now pillar four is surrounded by boxes, press L1 to jump over them and into the pillar. This next pillar is a little more complicated. As you reach the pillar press Circle + Left on the analog stick to power slide around the corner, making sure some part of the buggy passes through the pillar. For the final pillar stop in the light, press L1 and the left analog stick left or right to jump in place. Once you finish with all the light pillars follow the dot on the radar to activate the racing portion of this mission. ------------------------ Sub-Mission(Desert Race) ------------------------ This is a simple race against four other vehicles for three laps. Try to avoid hitting the other cars and if you can collect all the boosts (orange energy ball) vistory is assured. Getting all the boosts is simple: Boost one-Simply drive through it. Boost two-Jump when on the very top of the sand dune in front of it. Boost three-Jump when on the very top of the sand dune in front of it. Boost four-Jump when on the very top of the sand dune in front of it. See how simple that is! Get all of the boosts every lap to blow the competition away. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Note of Special Interest: If you drive too far away from the track the mission will fail and you'll have to start the race over again. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Mission Reward: Tough Puppy *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* --Collect the Artifacts(ac1.06)-- --Dune Buggy Tutorial(ac1.00)-- [I never said I wanted to be an archeologist] Recommended Buggy:Tough Puppy Recommended Morph-Gun:N/A Mission Difficulty:*/5 Time Mission For this mission you will be collecting several Precursor artifacts across the wasteland. Basically just head toward the green dot on your radar to find the item and just drive through it to collect it. You'll have to avoid constant attack from marauder vehicles while doing this so try to keep your wits about you out there. Drive out of the garage to start the timer and the mission. Item #1 This item will be to your left next to the race track as you leave the garage. 39 seconds Item #2 This item will be straight ahead after you collect the previous one. 26 seconds Item #3 To the right of the previous item atop a average sized sand dune. 30 seconds Item #4 Straight ahead and to the left. 27 seconds Item #5 Across the broken bridge next to #4(you'll have to jump across it). 28 seconds Item #6 To the right of the previous item. 30 seconds Item #7 Straight ahead of the previous item. 25 seconds Item #8 Again straight ahead of the previous item. 26 seconds Item #9 To the right and back of #8, jump across the broken bridge to get there quick. Item #10 Straight ahead of #9 25 seconds Item #11 To the right 25 seconds Item #12 (Final Artifact) Straight ahead again. 27 seconds Now you have about one minute to get the dune buggy back in the garage before the sandstorms kill you. Just follow the green dot. You should get there with around 18 seconds to spare. Along the way you must pass through every blue ring and come in first in order to pass the mission. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Note of Special Interest: for this race you really need to avoid hitting any of the citizens, they may shoot at you if you hit them. But for some reason the monks can hit every person from beginning to end and not have a single shot go off, thats just not fair! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Ring #1 Straight ahead, under an archway. Me thinks that is the buggy you need to choose. So approach it and press Triangle to enter it. Now drive straight ahead through the open gate out into the wasteland. If you look down at your map you will see some blinking green dots, follow them to find the metal heads you need to stop. Also remember to try and avoid hitting any of the rocks or trees you see around the wasteland, because just like in real life if you hit a rock-wall at breakneck speeds you'll damage your ride. These metal head's have a cannon on their back that fires charged balls of dark eco at you. It can fire at you from any direction. You will also need to avoid the creature's head at all costs. If you do make the mistake of getting too close it can and will toss you in the air a good distance. Also don't get trampled beneath their feet, this will result in instant death. The main strategy for these guys is to keep moving. Just make strafing runs and fire at one particular MH whenever you get a clear shot. If you see him launch a shot at you STOP! If you keep moving forward the shot will land next to you and cause damage. One Metal Head will be off by himself as you round the turn into their "arena" as I call it, take him out first so you don't have to worry about the others shooting at you. Shoot the buggy's weapons (R1) as you drive the buggy to stay within range. You'll know your shots are hitting him when you see little purple explosions along his body. Keep firing on this guy. It may seem like you aren't causing any damage but he will go down after a little while. Also be sure that you don't get confused between the other three of these guys. When you see it fall over on it's side you'll know you've managed to kill this guy. Now looking at your map again you'll notice that one other metal head is rampaging by himself as well. So approach him and show him what happened to his friend. this guy should go down without any major problems. Now the final two metal heads are smarter then the first two, they will tend to stay close to one another to make your job difficult. Just pick the closer one of the two and pour it into him. As long as you don't mix him up with the other metal head he shouldn't be a problem, just use the same tactics as before. Now for the final metal head, this guy tends to be running around in an area of the wasteland that makes it difficult to hit him without getting hurt yourself. Just do the best you can to avoid his attacks and hold down the trigger constantly. After hitting him enough he will fall over, but he isn't finished yet. This particular metal head will get back up again and start after you again. Just shoot him like before and he'll finally fall down for good. Mission Reward: Dark Eco Crystal. *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* *** More Coming Soon *** =============================================================================== Characters..........................................................Cha Jak 3 has a large cast of characters, this section is for your benefit in case you get confused as to who I or other characters may be talking about during the game. -- Jak-The main Hero of this game. After saving Haven city from the Metal Heads he gets exiled to the harsh wastelands as thanks. Needless to say he's had enough of saving the world. "The city threw me out, they can rot for all I care, I'm through saving the world." Voice Artist: Michael Erwin -- Daxter-This ottsel has come a long way from the person we first knew. He has learned to accept his new life as an Ottsel. Even though he doesn't have pants anymore being an ottsel does have its perks. Daxter's main role in this game will be to crack jokes at every opportunity he can get. "Our boy here gets all mean and nasty when ya piss him off, so don't piss him off, word to the wise." Voice Artist: Max Casella -- Samos-Jak's most trusted friend and ally, he is the closest thing to a father figure to Jak. Samos has been helping Jak since the very beginning. Samos is also a master of green eco. He also had the ability to fly/hover in the first game, but seems to not use it anymore. "Jak, were in SERIOUS trouble!" Voice Artist: Warren Burton -- Kiera-Jak's main/only love interest and close companion. She has been responsible for making the gadgets our heroes use on their journeys. Her latest invention was Jak's hoverboard. "Jak's always gotten us through thick and thin. I'm with him." Voice Artist: Tara Strong -- Torn-The new leader/commander of the Freedom League troops. He's not afraid of a fight, though you never see him actually fight someone. "If we lose this one, we're history." Voice Artist: Cutter Mitchell -- Ashelin-The daughter of Baron Praxis. She is also one of Jak's closest friends. She isn't afraid of getting in a fight to protect her friends or the city itself. She also is very fond of Torn. "Don't you remember who you are?" Voice Artist: Susan Eisenberg -- Sig-The lovable badass from Jak II. However this time it looks like Jak and Sig have a real rivalry going on between them. a rivalry that may not be so friendly. "Let's finish this." Voice Artist: Phil LaMarr -- Onin-The blind, deaf, mute soothsayer. Basically the unluckiest woman in existance:) She also helped Jak alot in the previous game. For unknown reasons she sends Pecker out into the wastelands with Jak & Daxter. "..........." Voice Artist: None -- Pecker-Onin's "Pet". Best described as if Antonio Banderas and Gilbert Gotfried had a child. Much like Daxter he appears to be two animals fused together to make a new one. He never gets along with Daxter and seems to know Damus in someway. "You want a crown? I'll crown YOU." Voice Artist: Chris Cox -- Tess-Daxter's love interest from the previous game. She was also a resistance fighter. She may seem simple minded but she can be cunning and is VERY loyal to her friends. She also made all those nifty new gun modes you've been using. "Now I want you to protect my baby with this, or else I'll hunt you down and hurt you REAL bad." Voice Artist: Britton A. Hill M.D. -- Jinx-He was one of Krew's associates you had to protect in the sewers from the previous game. He certainly doesn't take any lip from anyone. "Hey there Jaky Boy!" Voice Artist: Cutter Mitchell -- Veger-A religous zealot obsessed with Light Eco. He seems to have a place of authority on the council. He also really, really, REALLY doesn't like Jak. "You seem upset, how delightful." Voice Artist: Phil Lamarr -- Damus-This man is the king of Spargus. He is also the leader of the wastelanders and is responsible for their safety. "Prove yourselves worthy, or the desert will be your grave." Voice Artist: Bumper Robinson -- Kleiver-The wastelander equivalent of an Aussie. Complete with accent. He is responsible for maintaining the buggy's in the garage of Spargus. "Go get 'em heroes he he he." Voice Artist: Brian Bloom -- Seem-A very mysterious precursor monk. Very little is known about her. But she mostly just talks about Daystar this, and apocalypse that. "This planet's final trial is coming." Voice Artist: Tara Strong -- Krimzon Guard Leader-This "man" came to power shortly after the events of Jak II. He now commands the Krimzon Guard(Red Guards) and has control over a portion of Haven City. Letting his reign of terror continue would be a major "Error" on the part of our heroes. "You WILL meet your makers!" Voice Artist: [CENSORED] =============================================================================== Collectibles........................................................Col Most of the collectibles you find in the game will come from Krimzon Guard Crates. These crates are just like the ones from the previous game and are best described as a red and blue box on the ground. Enemies can also offer a few collectibles. --KG Crates-- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Green Eco Pack These are very important on your journey. Collecting one of these will restore ??? hitpoints. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ammo Anytype of ammo can be found in a KG crate. The color of the ammo shows which gun it is for. Scatter ammo will restore five shots. Blaster will restore 10 shots. Vulcan fury ammo will also restore 10 shots. Peace Maker ammo will restore 1 shot. Scatter and Blaster ammo are the most common types. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dark Eco This purple eco will allow Jak to transform into Dark Jak if he collects enough of it.Pretty rare in crates, they usually appear in areas where you are going to want to use Dark Jak very soon. Just for the sake of knowledge, it takes 85 "pieces" of Dark Eco to fill your meter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Metal Head Gems Killing a metal head will release this gem from it's forehead. It is bright yellow and tends to bounce for a little bit. These shiny little things are used to activate the side missions. If the gem you were looking for should happen to fall off the edge of a cliff where you can't follow it don't worry. It should "jump" back up to where you are if your lucky. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- --Enemies-- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Metal Head Gems Killing a metal head will release this gem from it's forehead. It is bright yellow and tends to bounce for a little bit. These shiny little things are used to activate the side missions. Collect enough dark eco to bring the pain to your enemies. Just for the sake of knowledge, it takes 85 "pieces" of Dark Eco to fill your meter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Light Eco Looking like a ball of blue light, this will refill your light eco meter. You should be aware that when compared to dark eco it is EXTREMELY rare. I suggest collecting it whenever you come across it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ammo Killing a KG will usually leave ammo around. An interesting fact is that the ammo usually left behind is for the gun that has the least ammo in it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- --Precursor Items-- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Precursor Orbs These floating brown orbs are very rare and valuable. In the final game You can collect three of these by doing any side mission activated at a tiki statue found out in the wasteland.Collocting enough of them will unlock a cheat in the cheat menu. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Precursor Armor While not a "collectible" like the others here, this seemed as good a place as any for it. This item will give Jak more Hitpoints which inturn lets Jak take more damage without dying. And more life is ALWAYS a good thing. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== FAQ.................................................................FAQ -- Do I need to play Jak II in order to play Jak 3?
